Accosted by a masher in the park and unable to motivate husband Charlie into taking action, Mabel gets him a boxing mannequin to sharpen his fighting skills.

A drunken homeowner has a difficult time getting about in his home after arriving home late at night.

Charles Chaplin, a convict, is given $5.00 and released from prison after having served his term. He meets a man of the church who makes him weep for his sins and while he is weeping takes the $5.00 away from him. Chaplin goes to a fruit stand and samples the fruit. When he goes to pay for it he finds his $5.00 is missing. This results in a battle with the fruit dealer, but Chaplin finally escapes. He is held up by a footpad and finds it is his former cellmate. He is inveigled into joining him in robbing a house. They put a police officer out of commission with a mallet and stack up the silverware. They then start upstairs to search the upper rooms, but are met by a young woman who implores them to leave because her mother is ill and fears the shock will kill her. Chaplin's heart is touched but the footpad insists on ransacking the house. This results in a battle between the footpad and Chaplin. While they are fighting, a squad of police arrives. The footpad makes his escape, but the police capture Chaplin. The woman of the house, however, saves him by telling the police he is her husband. She gives him a dollar and he leaves. He goes to a lodging house and in order to save his dollar from thieves puts it in his mouth, swallowing it while he sleeps. A crook robs all the men in the lodging house but Chaplin takes the money away from him, and also the rings his "pal" had stolen. This starts a battle in which all join. Chaplin flees. In order to do a good turn to the woman who had saved him from the police, he takes her rings back.

Intent on scuttling his ship, a financially-pressed shipowner conspires with the vessel's captain to collect the insurance money, unbeknownst to him that his daughter and her beau, Charlie, are aboard. Will they get away with it so easily?

Charlie does everything but an efficient job as janitor. Edna buys her fiance, the cashier, a birthday present. Charlie thinks "To Charles with Love" is for him. He presents her a rose which she throws in the garbage. Depressed, Charlie dreams of a bank robbery and his heroic role in saving the manager and Edna ... but it is only a dream.

After watching others lose, Charlie puts the horseshoe in his glove and wins. The trainer prepares Charlie to fight the world champion. A gambler wants Charlie to throw the fight. He and the trainer's daughter fall in love.

An alcoholic checks into a health spa and his antics promptly throw the establishment into chaos.

After numerous failed attempts to commit suicide, our hero (Lloyd) runs into a lawyer who is looking for a stooge to stand in as a groom in order to secure an inheritance for his client (Davis). The inheritance is a house, which her scheming uncle "haunts" so that he can scare them off and claim the property.

An American book salesman (Lloyd) is persuaded to go to the kingdom of Thermosa to impersonate the Prince. He is greeted by a peasants' revolt before the real prince shows up to claim his throne and princess. The revolution succeeds and the American is elected president of the new republic.

After getting into a scuffle with his boss and some co-workers, an orange packer tries to help another co-worker, only to wind up in a conflict with him as well. Trying to elude his boss, he heads inside the packing house, and visits with the women who are packing fruit into cases. Then he heads to a storage area, and tries to use the machinery to escape his pursuers.

Stan Laurel's blundering worker drops all kinds of heavy props on poor James Finlayson, the foreman of a failing lumber company that cannot possibly have enough insurance to cover all the pratfalls. You just knew that big bucket of hot glue was trouble.

On his way to collect inheritance in the small town on Hot Dog, Stan gets robbed by highwaymen, one of which is the other person who shall attend the reading of their late Uncle's will. The reading of the will states Stan will get everything, including 'The Last Chance Saloon', but in the case of Stan's death, the saloon will be split between Bad Mike and his friend. Stan nows flees town, but gets on Bad Mike's horse, which takes him to Bad Mike's house. Bad Mike and his gang arrive at the house, after robbing the saloon. They soon hear Stan, and an epic gun battle follows, with the town Sheriff not far behind.

The boys and their wives are preparing for a drive to a Sunday picnic but infighting is ruining their plans and a sudden feud with a next-door neighbor completes the disaster.

Stanley and Oliver are adopted by a runaway goat, whose noise and aroma in turn get the goat of their suspicious landlord. Attempts to bathe the smelly animal result in a waterlogged free-for-all.

Two homeless vagabonds hide out in a vacant mansion and pose as the residents when prospective lessees arrive and try to rent it.

Jilted by his girlfriend, "Jeanie-Weenie," Oliver joins the Foreign Legion to forget, bringing Stanley along with him. They wilt under the scorching desert sun and under the harsh discipline of the Commandant. On a long march to reinforce remote Fort Arid, the boys get lost in the sands, finally reaching the Fort only to find it besieged by the fearsome Riffs.

In winter-time, the boys fail to earn any money by playing their musical instruments in a bad neighborhood but their luck seems to improve when they find a wallet full of money on the street.

Taking the train to a show in Pottsville, musicians Stanley and Oliver run into trouble once settled in their sleeping car berth.

Ollie and Stanley are two Christmas Tree sales reps who get into one of their usual mutual-destruction fights with a disgruntled homeowner.

Stanley and Oliver, in their new jobs as footman and doorman at a ritzy hotel, wreak their usual havoc on the guests, including partially undressing a swanky blonde guest and repeatedly escorting a haughty Prussian nobleman into an empty elevator shaft.

Oliver inherits a fortune and hires Stan as his butler and proceeds to torment him. Stan finally rebels and goes on a rampage, destroying Oliver's fancy furnishings.

With the police hot on their trail, Stan and Ollie attempt to change clothes in their getaway car, only to find themselves struggling to balance atop the girders of an unfinished skyscraper. Will they return to ground level in one piece?

On his wedding day, Oliver and his best man Stanley become absorbed in a jigsaw puzzle. Eventually the taxi driver, the butler, a policeman and a messenger boy all get involved with the puzzle, making them late for the wedding.

On shore leave from the Navy, seamen Stanley and Oliver want to treat two attractive single girls to a glass of soda in the park but only have enough change for three sodas.

Novice policemen Stanley and Oliver, eating lunch in their patrol car, nearly have their spare tire stolen by a thief and his sassy partner. They then miss the broadcast address of a burglary in progress, and Stanley borrows the phone in a jewelry store to call the station, mistaking the safecracker inside for the shop's owner. The boys eventually manage to catch the apparent burglar and bring him back to the station, only to find it's really the police chief, who'd been locked out of his house. The chief exacts a rather dire revenge upon the two rookie cops.

After far too many break-ins on his watch, an ineffective policeman approaches the unsuspecting vagabonds, Laurel and Hardy, with a preposterous proposition; one that would get him off the hook. But, are the boys up to the task?

Keen to climb the social ladder by marrying a rich widow, Oliver finds the nerve to cheat on his partner Stanley. What he doesn't know is that her favorite hobby is murder--and it looks like he's next. Who can save Oliver the Eighth?

Rich oil tycoon (Finlayson) awakens one morning, after a night of carousing, to be told that he was married the night before. His lawyer (Laurel) is called in to straighten things out when a blackmail attempt is made. Wild chases through a dance hall and amusement park ensue.

Oliver stands to inherit a large fortune from his rich Uncle Bernal, with the condition that he be happily married. But when Mrs. Hardy walks out just before Uncle Bernal is due for a visit, Stanley is pressed into duty (and into drag) to impersonate Oliver's loving spouse. He's convincing enough to earn a pass or two from a drunk at a nightclub, but when a stolen necklace gets dropped down his dress, attempts to recover it disclose Stanley's true gender.

A scheming fight manager attempts to collect insurance on his puny fighter by causing an accident. Things don't go according to plan, and the situation escalates into a pie-throwing battle of epic proportions.

The boys are contracted to build a house in a day but they have many mishaps and run into trouble with the nearby hospital staff, due to their excessive noise.

A serious case of emotional neglect brings door-to-door Christmas cards salesmen, Stan and Ollie, at the house of an inconsolable wife who is convinced that her artist husband doesn't love her anymore.

A gruff sea captain, who absolutely detests the word "ghost," is having trouble manning his ship because of the rumor it's...well...haunted. He inveigles Stanley and Oliver into helping him shanghai a crew from the sailors at a dockside bar. The comic duo accomplish this by using one of the funniest devices ever put into a movie, and of course it all goes wrong. Once aboard, the captain warns them that whoever says the word "ghost" will get his head twisted from north to south. After much time at sea and many port stops later, one of the drunken sailors falls into a trough of whitewash, terrorizing Stanley and Oliver into blurting out "ghost" in front of the enraged captain, which brings about the story's Laurel and Hardy trademark "another fine mess" ending.

Like the legendary Sisyphus, deliverymen Laurel and Hardy struggle to push a large crated piano up a seemingly insurmountable flight of stairs.

Thrown in prison for a hundred years, Little Goofy and Big Goofy finally break free, posing as an anarchic duo of undercover painters. Soon, the boys wind up in a private party as visiting French dignitaries; however, who are they kidding?

Stan convinces Oliver to adopt a baby to placate his wife, but upon returning home with the infant, they find a process server with a divorce summons, leaving the two buffoons to care for the squealing baby.

Stanley's attempts to treat Oliver's cold include dropping a swab down his friend's throat, applying a mustard plaster to his rump, and inflating the air mattress from the gas jet until it has Oliver pressed against the ceiling.

After the events in Them Thar Hills (1934), Stan and Ollie encounter their old nemesis, whose grocery shop is next to their home-appliances store. Nobody can let bygones be bygones, and a war breaks out. Will those tit-for-tat battles ever end?

Although they are successful fishmongers, Stan convinces Ollie that they should become fishermen too, but making a boat seaworthy is not an easy task.

Laurel and Hardy work at horse stables where a stallion named Blue Boy is kept. When they hear Gainsborough's famous painting, The Blue Boy, has been stolen, the duo rush to collect the offered reward.

Members of a municipal band, Stanley and Oliver seem to be always following someone else's lead, rather than that of the temperamental conductor. Soon they're out of a job, as well as their lodgings when the landlady finds out they've been fired. The boys try their luck at being street musicians, but the tiffs they get into with each other soon spread to passersby in general, until the street is filled with men pulling each other's pants off.

At a farm near Bangville, the young daughter see strangers in the barn. She quickly rushes to the house and calls the police. The police engage in a haphazard rush across the countryside to get there in time.

The premise of this film is two rival men pursuing the same girl. In the mean time a gang of car thieves are going around town stealing cars and then reselling them to their original owners. The rich man takes the girl to see a minister to get married so the other man comes up with a plot to have the car thief gang help him win the girl back.

As Harry has "cleaned up" on the football field and won the big game, Natalie's dad figured that he should do the same in the world of work before marrying his daughter. Harry's chance to prove himself comes with an "engineering" job with the city. But it's sanitary engineering, and while our street sweeping hero tries his best, he just can't avoid making enemies. When he stumbles into the midst of a lively Chinatown tong war, it's Harry's bravery that saves Natalie and wins the day.

Jim Treen, a road agent, is engaged to Molly Stewart, who has no notion of his secret profession. When she discovers Jim's hidden treasure cache, she breaks their engagement. Though he pleads with her, promising to reform, Molly will not marry the bandit. Bill Carey, interested in Molly's savings, woos and wins her. The evening they are to be married, she entrusts to Carey her bank account, asking him to invest it for her. Carey beats it out of town on the night stage. Jim Treen is notified that Carey has left Molly in the lurch. The former road agent rides after the stage. Carey bribes the driver with a bonus of one hundred dollars to make the eastbound limited. Treen, however, by taking a perilous short cut over the mountains, stops Carey at the train, snatches away his gun, and compels him, at the point of his own weapon, to hand over Molly's money. Jim restores her savings to the woman he still loves, and Molly becomes his wife.

Henpecked husband Harry is coerced by a good time pal to go on a clandestine double date. Of course, no good will come of this, as they encounter streetwalkers, bumpy roads, and a couple of toughs previously jilted by their dates.

Gloria Dawn lives down the hall from her sweetheart, Bobbie Knight. The dishonest Henry Black is Gloria's guardian, and he is also in charge of Bobbie's inheritance. The scheming guardian and his sister have been spending Bobbie's money, and they hope to have the sister marry Bobbie so that they can keep control over his money.

A gang of thieves continually threaten or attempt to kill the Mayor, always setting up the bumbling Chief of Police as the culprit. The Chief's very friendly relationship with the Mayor's wife doesn't help. When the Mayor's valuables are stolen the Chief is given a chance to redeem himself.

An eccentric inventor has thought of a way that automobiles can run on radio waves, without gasoline. His plans put him in conflict with the owner of an oil company, who is also pursuing the inventor's daughter. This rival begins to scheme against the inventor, and it is left up to the inventor's hired man to try to stop him.

A group of bandits stage a brazen train hold-up, only to find a determined posse hot on their heels.

A dying mother bequeaths money in trust for her teenage daughter to the pastor. When he buys the girl an expensive new hat, scandal breaks out, as local gossips assume something fishy is going on between the pastor and the pretty girl.
